Yesterday, I recommended choosing a challenging pose to work on for the week. It could seem like deliberately putting yourself in the path of a challenge is a bad idea. It is not. There are many benefits to choosing to challenge ourselves.
Besides the basic bonus of ensuring personal growth, we can assure ourselves of a few other benefits. When we challenge ourselves on a regular basis:
1. Other obstacles don’t appear to be as difficult.
2. We seem like more interesting people to others (increasing attractiveness and charisma)
3. We develop a general approach of willingness, which other people appreciate. It makes us more approachable if others need help.
4. We are able to offer service and support to others in new ways because we have a wider range of experience.
5. We may become more willing to think outside of the box, increasing creativity.
These aspects of tackling challenges are often overlooked. The reward for working in this way far outweighs the benefits of just getting in shape. Our yoga practice can do more than just make our bodies better. It makes our minds, attitudes, and friendliness better as well.
Namaste!
Pose of the Day: Whatever pose you have chosen for your challenge. Don’t choose another. Stick with it for at least this week. By no means are you guaranteed to master the pose in one week. This week is meant to challenge you. Stick to it!
Yogic Concept of the Day: Challenging myself benefits others as well as myself in new and unexpected ways.

As a yoga teacher and erertpneneur who grew up with Stephen Covey in her mom’s cassette player, I LOVE this blog! What better way to build the habits to success in a balanced way? Thank you.
