I have had several requests for videos that could help my students to practice yoga for their joints at home. I figure before creating my own video, I could share some that I found that are pretty good. There are so many yoga videos on YouTube, honestly, it may not be necessary to make more videos, but just share those that I think would be good home supplements to what we do in class.
Today’s video is to support joints in the hands. It is different from what we do in class, but would be a great additional home practice. This video comes from Kim McNeil Yoga:
Doing this support at least two days when you are not coming to the studio would be minimal support. I recommend doing arthritis exercises with frequency, but not for long periods, throughout the day. If you are really trying to work to keep pain at bay, doing about 30 seconds to one minute of practice every hour or two is not unreasonable. Just be gentle with yourself and be consistent.
