I hope you had a fantastic Fourth of July! It was a fun one!
We return to the regular weekly blog with some great core exercises to support what you do in yoga. Even if you do not need to do exercises in a chair, you may find some of these great for you. Great for developing core muscles and a healthy range of motion in the spine, these exercises even allow for some increase in flexibility.
Remember to just go as far as you need to in order to begin to feel it. Be careful not strain. Your body will naturally find this work easier the more often you do them. I would suggest doing them every other day.
These are great for those who prefer not to get up and down off the floor, or for those who want a few ideas for some quick exercises to do while at work. each day you work with them, you may find aspects of them easier and easier. Just pace yourself and do what you can. Trust your own process to naturally allow you to develop a strong core. These muscles will kick in naturally the more you use them. The exercises presented will also help the core to stabilize you as you do balance work. Well worth it!
Yoga Pose of the Day: Navasana – Boat Pose
